Alison Quinn - principal

Alison graduated from the University of Tasmania with a combined Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1988. After working as a tax consultant for a year in Melbourne and completing her legal practice course she was admitted to practice in 1990. She joined Dobson, Mitchell & Allport in 1993 and became a non-director principal in 1999.

Alison has practised in civil litigation, with particular emphasis on insurance related matters, for approximately 21 years. In particular she has dealt with:

  • Workers compensation claims
  • Public liability claims (bodily injury and property damage)
  • Motor vehicle accident claims (bodily injury and property damage)
  • Professional indemnity claims
  • Fire, fraud and theft claims
  • General insurance claims

Alison is admitted to practice as both a barrister and a solicitor. She appears in the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Tribunal, the Supreme Court and has experience in other Courts and Tribunals. Alison is a member of the Law Society of Tasmania, the Tasmanian Bar Association and the Australian Insurance Law Association. She is a lecturer in workers compensation at the Centre for Legal Studies. She has been invited to present papers for various insurers and employers. She has contributed to insurance and employer newsletters.
