Bob graduated from the University of Tasmania with a law degree in 1977 and was admitted to practice in 1979. He became a director of the firm in 2008 when the legal practice previously conducted by Hand Ogilvie & Breheny was incorporated with Dobson Mitchell & Allport. Bob had been a partner with Hand Ogilvie & Breheny since 1988.

Bob practices civil litigation, with particular emphasis on personal injury claims, workers compensation and insurance law. His areas of practice also include building, commercial and contractual disputes.

Bob has provided advice in relation to drafting legislation and he is a former reporter for the Tasmanian Law Reports. He has appeared as counsel in the Supreme Court of Tasmania and in other courts and specialist tribunals on numerous occasions.
