We have a team of specialist lawyers who provide practical advice in the area of employment and industrial relations.  Our team advises a range of industries, acting for employers, employees and human resource professionals in areas including:

  • Making and defending claims for unfair dismissal, unlawful termination and adverse action;
  • Drafting common law employment contracts and letters of offer which are compliant with the National Employment Standards (NES);
  • Making and defending anti-discrimination claims;
  • Drafting, negotiating and lodging enterprise agreements (Federal), including strategy consultation;
  • Identifying applicable modern award and advising on rates of pay;
  • Drafting and amending human resource policies which are NES compliant;
  • Advising business following the State Government referral of powers to the Federal Government;

  • Human resource and industrial relations due diligence investigations and reports prior to sale or purchase of businesses;
  • Advising on of occupational Health & Safety, worker’s compensation, confidentiality, restraint of trade, protection of intellectual property, and freedom of association;
  • Conducting employment and industrial relations training seminars for supervisors and managers.
